Variant RPGaDay2026 - Days 4, 5, and 6

I've started running a hybrid Cyberpunk 2020/Red game at my local game store, and three character concepts jumped out at me for this string of 3x3 prompts.

Batch 2 (Cyberpunk)

Drive – Charm – Loving and Giving (Rocker)

These prompts in the context of cyberpunk could probably go with a "Media/Reporter" type, or a 'Rocker" but I've always found the rocker to be the more subversive and interesting of the Cyberpunk characters. It's also one of the harder ones for a player to pull off in my experience, so I'll use them as the NPC archetype here.

"Becca <the Bass> Orlov"

Goal: Becca is a bass player in the metal band "Forgotten Filth". They've been working hard to make a name for themselves, and

Obstacle: The band don't have a label and this has made it hard for them to get regular gigs across the city. This has often meant that they've needed to do "independent contract" work for local promoters to get their music in venues with a decent crowd.

Strength: Becca has a good sense of rhythm which has helped with her bass guitar skills and her martial arts skill in the band's "contract work".

Weakness: She does this for the fans, and that often means she'll put herself at risk (and occasionally her bandmates) or give up too much of her own goals if it means other people will benefit from a situation.

Drive – Burden – Works Hard (Solo)

"Hammer Silverstein"

Goal: Hammer has been around the back alleys for years, known for his no nonsense attitude and willingness to work with anyone who'll accept him. He's been trying to find information about the movers and shakers in the city, but few know what he's doing with this data.

Obstacle: Hammer has a bad reputation because he is the lone survivor of a job that went really bad a few years back. No one wants to work with him for long as he's considered bad luck by many of the local teams.

Strength: He has accumulated a substantial arsenal over the years, and can do a lot of damage on his own.

Weakness: He's paranoid about whoever it was who killed his former team, and doesn't trust anyone. As a lone operative he is dangerous, but collateral damage and lack of trusting pothers prevents him working successfully in a team any more.

Drive – Reach – Blessed (Netrunner)

"<Blue-Screen> Kasinski"

Goal: Blue-Screen just wants to remain anonymous at this time, but has become relatively well known for their online persona. This has come from a number of jobs they have done over the years that has caused major network disruptions and financial crashes that have caused severe loss of value in crypto.

Obstacle: Blue-Screen's public persona is making it harder for them to keep a low profile. More people are piecing together the truth, and they have to be more careful with their jobs. This has meant many of their jobs have had to had to go further afield than they would have in the past.

Strength: Blue-Screen has defenses that haven't been penetrated in years, and a reputation for specialising in bringing down the most powerful companies on the planet.

Weakness: There is a massive bounty on Blue-Screen, and anyone who might be caught associating with them.
